Workplace Presence & Purpose Inventory

 Background Information:

This study is being conducted by principal investigator William Brendel.

The purpose of this study is to test and improve the validity of an organizational assessment titled the "Presence and  Purpose Inventory." This instrument is used to help employees better understand how their awareness and sense of purpose impacts their work, themselves, and their communication with colleagues.


ELECTRONIC CONSENT TO READ & AGREE/DISAGREE Before Starting Survey
Procedures:
If you agree to contribute the results of your survey to this ongoing validation study, we will ask you to do the following: You will be asked to provide general information about yourself (i.e., gender, greatest degree of education, and years of professional service). You will also be asked to read and answer each survey item according to your experience in the workplace. Your answers will be collected in a sever without any personal identification information. The survey will take less than 10 minutes to complete.

Risks of Being in the Assessment:

You might experience stress or distress during participation in this assessment. To protect against this problem, you have the right to withdraw from taking the assessment whenever you become uncomfortable. If you no longer wish to take the assessment, please click the x in the upper right corner to exit the screen. You may also choose to call a helpline number in the event you need further counseling. The Kristin Brooks Hope Center Hopeline: 1-800-784-2433 can help you cope with a range of depressive feelings that may occur.
Your participation will remain confidential. Your decision to participate will not affect your relationships with the principal investigator, or the University of St. Thomas. 
 
Confidentiality:
The records of this study will be kept confidential.  In any sort of report we publish, we will not include information that will make it possible to identify you in any way. The response data will be created in anonymized form by the survey system, then this anonymized data will be stored in secured password computers of the principal investigator and the co-investigator. Only the principal investigator and the co-investigator can access the data. 
 
Voluntary Nature of the Study:
Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary. Your decision whether or not to participate will not affect your current or future relations with the principal investigator, the co-investigator, or the University of St. Thomas.  If you decide to participate, you are free to withdraw at any time. You are also free to skip any questions.
